Printer Recommendation
We need to replace the printer connected to our Cogent AFIS system. This same printer is used to print exemplars from the state database. I am seeking recommendations for a replacement printer. Obviously it has to be able to print at 500dpi but I also need it to have a tray for legal size paper. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Printer Recommendation
We have two different printers, one for our local AFIS and one provided by the state along with their computer terminal.
HP LaserJet 3005 (state)
and
Lexmark t650 (local - this specific model is discontinued)
I can't say I can really tell a difference in print quality but the Lexmark jams a heck of a lot more.

Lexmark MS810dn
This is attached to our AFIS and will print both cards and paper (I use it for my match reports as well as exemplars). I have a total of four trays attached; one for suspect tenprint, palm, applicants, and letter paper. Quality is great for both. To get a recommendation from the FBI, they have specifications on what peripherals are suitable for latent work. Check out https://www.fbibiospecs.cjis.gov/Certifications for their certified product list. You can filter by scanner, livescan, printer, etc.
