We'd like to organise a series of internal tests with marks and tenprints for training purposes. Building a specific collection of marks and tenprints may take a while.
Is anyone aware if collections like these are for sale (I'm not talking about proficiency tests).
All the best,

Re: reference "database" set
I'm not sure how good it is, but here's the only one I was able to find.

Re: reference "database" set
Hello Gerrit,
I am a CLPE , retired after 29 years, and I am the SME - consultant to Mideo Systems. Mideo Systems has a comprehensive fingerprint training software program that includes lecture materials but also latent prints and associated ten prints in a number of different practical exams and modules which is used in the Fingerprint Comparison Training Program, TrainingWorks.
There are two separate groups of samples one that totals potentially about 12,000 comparisons and the other about 10,000 potential comparisons.
These are not proficiency tests, but created impressions used for student fingerprint experts to gain comparison experience. The exams vary, but the typical Exam has 20 latent prints that has an associated set of about 15 ten prints (individuals/subjects) equaling about 50 total images due to the many forms of exemplars such as palms, slaps, tips, etc. The images also vary in visual quality and difficulty levels. (Recorded in the system data.)
Mideo's software has a built in on screen comparison method and an auto grading system to check the student's answers, but these images can be extracted and packaged separately if necessary.
Here is the website for more info: https://mideosystems.com/products/trainingworks
The Mideo software program can provide not just the images but the infrastructure for managing all the users doing the comparisons. Display progress, scoring, grading and completion reports.
This may sound like a commercial but you did say 'for sale.' I am sure I could set up an online meeting with the Mideo people to discuss the needs of your project in more detail, at which time to see if Mideo could come up with
an arrangement which might make sense for both sides.
This is a lot of material that has been gathered over many, many years by Phoenix Police and Los Angeles Sheriff's Department for their training programs and it was digitized and compiled into this program. It should be put to good use within the worldwide fingerprint discipline.
Let me know what you think.
