Sciometrics has an updated version of their closed-search matching tool called LatentSleuth. Basically, they have moved the stand-alone computer to a cloud format. My section uses the stand-alone version currently and we are considering the cloud version. It is supposed to be much faster and it would allow for users to have the software at each workstation as opposed to sharing the one stand-alone.
Our biggest factors are cost and getting through our IT governance board. The cost of the stand-alone was approximately 10K. I am still waiting for a quote for the cloud version per user. I know it is gonna hurt.
Are there any labs out there that have tested or validated the new cloud version? I have yet to find anyone who has.
If you have any knowledge of the cloud version, I'd appreciate any feedback you can give.
