Hi All,

I am leaving Hayward PD to go to graduate school, so there will be an opening for any interested latent examiners! Job will be posted on IAI and AAFS in a few days. Job includes lab processing, latent examinations, some crime scene work if needed, and AFIS searches. I also do cold case DNA work, consult with the inspectors, and get a lot of training. Hayward is 35 miles from downtown SF, ten or so miles south of Oakland. The police department is pretty small (the city is large... interesting dichotomy at times...), and the latent examiner is based at the off-site crime lab with four Crime Scene Techs. I have a large desk, a window, and a lot of freedom. A qualified consultant is contracted as a fingerprint verifier and trainer who comes in as needed.
