The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will begin a recruitment for Forensic Scientist Trainees in the Latent Print Detail of the Forensic Laboratory on 11/29/06. The recruitment will close on 12/27/06 OR when 300 applications are received. We anticipate hiring four trainees.

The training program for the Latent Print Detail is expected to last 12-15 months. After successful completion of the first 12 months, the Trainees will automatically progress to Forensic Scientist I. After successful completion of two years as a Forensic Scientist I and passing the IAI Latent Print Certification test, the Forensic Scientist I's will progress to a Forensic Scientist II's. The salary ranges for the Forensic Scientist I and II are also on our website.

Yes Andrew, I guess I did sort of leave out the "by the way you will have to put up with me as your supervisor" clause - isn't that a frightening thought?

Since all things in government tend to be firm as jello, Personnel called soon after I made the CLPEX post and there may be a week delay in the Job Announcement and they may NOT limit the number of applicants.
