Forensic Scientist Trainees - Fabulous Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will begin a recruitment for Forensic Scientist Trainees in the Latent Print Detail of the Forensic Laboratory on 11/29/06. The recruitment will close on 12/27/06 OR when 300 applications are received. We anticipate hiring four trainees.

The training program for the Latent Print Detail is expected to last 12-15 months. After successful completion of the first 12 months, the Trainees will automatically progress to Forensic Scientist I. After successful completion of two years as a Forensic Scientist I and passing the IAI Latent Print Certification test, the Forensic Scientist I's will progress to a Forensic Scientist II's. The salary ranges for the Forensic Scientist I and II are also on our website.

How about, FOR Alice, UNDER Alice, BENEATH Alice? Or maybe, SERVING Alice?

A challenging job, no doubt, but I can't think of a better one. Top notch lab, great pay, outstanding benefits, but best of all, Alice.

Yes Andrew, I guess I did sort of leave out the "by the way you will have to put up with me as your supervisor" clause - isn't that a frightening thought?

Quick update for those interested . . .

Since all things in government tend to be firm as jello, Personnel called soon after I made the CLPEX post and there may be a week delay in the Job Announcement and they may NOT limit the number of applicants. Please keep checking our website for the Announcement. Once the Job Announcement is made, please follow whatever is listed on the Announcement. Sorry for any confusion.

Frightening, maybe. But I would venture to guess that most people can find a way to fight through it.
