Did any of you fingerprint scientists bother to perform your own WSQ experiment?

The Forensic Digital Fingerprint Standard is moving from 500 ppi WSQ to 1000 ppi J2000 (JPEG 2000).

Mr. Cherry could you please clarify your above standard move. I am confused and would like to know were you recieved this information, it has been recommended to change the scanning minimum resolution to 1000ppi, as part of the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology)fingerprint standard update.
I was not able to find Dr. Mitchell our yourself as members, contributors or having any input whatsoever in the workshops that have been held and are upcoming in 2005.
This is the web site for the information that I am referring to http://fingerprint.nist.gov/standard/index.html
It would be helpful and perhaps less controversial if you would also referrence were your information could be confirmed.
