I was also bumped to the Townplace Suites across the river. Also skeptical of the "10 minute" drive time. I got my notice at 6pm Friday, July 24th. Has anyone tried the "IAI relocation line"? I have yet to receive a call back, although at this point any chance of not being put at the motel across the river is gone. I put no blame on the IAI, Sheratons have been used at many conferences. This comes down to poor management of a bad situation - having worked in the hotel business in the past there are far better ways to handle relocations and massive oversights.

I will be calling the Starwood Customer Care at some point, but I'd like a response from the response team first.

I just called the Hyatt, the other hosting hotel. They have added a block of rooms since the Sheraton's mishap. Same $107 per night rate. But you have to ask for a manager and tell them you are one of the bumped people from the conference. I and my co-worker spoke with someone named Donna, so ask for her. These are probably going fast. Number is 916-443-1234. Good luck!

Fantastic info: I'll second that. I just got a room. Asked reservations if they opened an extra block for the $107/night.

If anyone needs a room at the Quality inn, I'll be cancelling my reservation shortly.
