Hi,

I have been reading this forum for a long time and really enjoy it, but have never posted. I am a latent print examiner for the the New York State Division of Criminal Justice. I will be taking a course to help me learn to train others. For this course, I would like to put together a one hour presentation about fabricated prints. For part of this presentation I would like to hand out groups of latents and have the audience determine which ones were fabricated. Does anyone have any examples of fabricated prints they would be willing to share?

Becky, have a look at the thread "Evidence fabrication in South Africa" for background on a fabricated fingerprint. The issue was the origin of the print. Have a look at the "Van der Vyfer page" in the left hand bar on www.clpex.com (home page). For relevant photographs and information ask Pat Wertheim at foridents@aol.com

For reasons why those police officer(s) did it, email crookedcops@saps.gov.za. An honest reply may not be forthcoming.
