This is pretty last minute, but I'll be doing a workshop at the Carlsbad Police Department on September 3-4 (Thursday-Friday). The topic is Charting Latent Prints with Adobe Photoshop. There are a few spaces left in the class if anyone can make it down to Carlsbad.

This is an intermediate level workshop and is not for Photoshop beginners. The class will be taught using Photoshop CS4 although much of the information is relevant to earlier versions.

Here is the official description:
This class is designed to teach techniques and theories of charting latent prints for documentation purposes and court presentation. Additionally, different tips and tricks for working with digital images and latent prints will be discussed. This is an intermediate level class, designed for examiners and other personnel responsible for preparing court charts of latent prints, who already have some experience working in Adobe Photoshop CS (or newer) and digital imaging.

Let me see now, let me get this straight ... A two day workshop by Steve Everist for $50? Where does one sign up?!! This is a great deal, and everyone in the San Diego area should sign up. Actually, everyone who realizes what a great place San Diego is, and who knows of Steve and his expertise with Photoshop should sign up and get two days of great training in a wonderful location! Can you say great location, great topic, great price, and great instructor?! If I wasn't going to be in San Francisco, I'd be there with that picture of Grant in my hand.

The reason for the extra spots is that I scheduled it around one of our mandatory furloughs, which as it turns out overlaps the AFIS Internet Conference in Sacramento. It's too bad we won't be able to get together while I'm down there.

However I am looking forward to a short vacation afterward when my wife flies down to meet me Friday night.

With the possibility of more mandatory furloughs in 2010, I may be giving this workshop a couple more times. I may have to find a department near Sonoma (or Hawaii... Australia???).
