PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR STUDY ON COGNITIVE ABILITIES OF LATENT PRINT EXAMINERS
Experts are characterized by specific and special abilities. In the area of latent fingerprint examination, we do not know what the particular abilities and skills are that enable experts to excel. In this study, we aim to develop "cognitive profiles" that define the cognitive underpinning of expertise in latent print examination. We have conducted similar work in other expert domains, such as with pilots in the domain of aviation.
To conduct this study, we need latent print examiners and other forensic examiners to take part in our study. We would like to interview experts and measure certain cognitive abilities in both fingerprint examiners and other forensic examiners.
