AFIS and Autoclass

Hi everyone,

We are in the trenches building our new AFIS and I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer. How many agencies are using autoclass to populate your tenprint target database? How many are using patterns assigned manually to the tenprint database? If you are using autoclass, is it done in "lights out mode" without any chance to override the auto-classifications? If there is human intervention, at what point in the process does the human intervene?
For those with autoclass capabilities, on reverse/cascade searches, are the tenprints also auto-classified without any human intervention?

Thanks,
Becky

In Nebraska, from a Livescan, they are lights-out-sort of-autoclassed but it will accept user intervention at the QC step. For the most part, it will correctly classify the pattern but in some situations, it will reference a pattern that absolutely needs no referencing. For scanned in print cards, the system will auto-class but it does make more mistakes this way so user intervention is required more for this type of entry vs. livescan. Hope that helps.

Thanks ER and Josher89,

We are fighting going lights out and are hoping to get the chance to correct in QC. We'll find out soon.

Thanks,
Becky
