I just acquired Caseworks from Mideo and am looking to begin doing some on screen comparisons. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what size and kind of monitor is best to use? I also need suggestions on scanners...which will be used to scan in latent lifts for the on screen comparisons. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Eliza,
The scanners that we have found to be optimal with latent prints and the Mideo software are the Epson Perfection V700 or or V750. Both are very high resolution and can scan multiple files of images in one pass.
We are currently researching new monitors and have chosen two. They are the HP LP2475w and the Dell UltraSharp U2410. Both of these are 24" IPS monitors. IPS panels are generally considered the best overall LCD technology for image quality, color accuracy and viewing angles. They are very conducive for on-screen comparisons. The HP is slightly more expensive and seems to have better durability. Both of them will run $500 or more.
Hope this helps!
