DNA Analyst OCONUS
Firearms Examiner CONUS - OCONUS

Category: Biometrics, Forensics

The premier government contractor for Biometric and Military Intelligence solutions, in support of our country’s fight against terrorism, is seeking multiple Latent Print Examiners and Forensic Technicians for employment as civilian contractors supporting US Military activities, both in US (CONUS) and abroad (OCONUS).

DNA Analyst and Firearms Examiners trained to competency, with recent employment are preferred. Deployment timeframe is a minimum of 6 months, deploying in April.

DNA Analyst:

Duties:
The DNA Examiner performs technical and analytical tasks in the documentation, collection, preservation, and processing of DNA. Scientifically assesses materials of evidentiary value to determine the best methodology for developing, enhancing and preserving evidence from suspects. Professional certification is required. American Board of Criminalistics (ABC) certification in Forensic Biology is desired.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
• Process various types of evidence for DNA Examination
• Prepare detailed reports on processes performed and results.
• Train personnel in the area of DNA examination.
• Maintain and document the chain of custody of evidence.
• Prepare detailed reports on processes performed and results.
• Collect and preserve DNA evidence.

Requirements:

• Must be a highly qualified DNA examiner with at least five (5) years of experience
• Must have experience as lead of a team of DNA analysts
• Must have the ability to effectively use proper scientific methodology to provide DNA Analysis on:
• Evidence
• Blood and Bloodstains
• Body Fluids and body fluid stains
• Hair samples
• Other items pertaining to or requiring DNA analysis
• Generation of profiles
• Performance of visual and microscopic examination of hairs
• Provide comparison of evidence from victims, scenes, or instruments of incidents to evidence from suspects.
• Provided expert testimony in court


Firearms Examiner:

Duties:
The Firearms and Tool Marks Examiner will conduct forensic examinations of firearms and tool marks on crime related evidence, identify the microscopic markings left on evidence in criminal investigations and how they relate to firearms or tools that made these markings, conducts complete scientific test if firearms evidence using laboratory equipment, prepares documentation and reports on the results of the collection and analysis of evidence.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
• Process firearms for latent prints.
• Conduct examination of lead and other metal fragments, bullets, ammunition components and firearms.
• Examination of tool marks as having been produced by a particular tool
• Conduct shot pattern and gunshot residue examinations
• Conduct trajectory analysis and the collection, preservation and processing of evidence and event reconstruction.
• Prepare detailed reports on processes performed and results.
• Train personnel in the area of latent print collection on firearms
• Maintain and document the chain of custody of evidence.
• Prepare detailed reports on processes performed and results.
• Collect and preserve possible DNA evidence.

Requirements:
• Must be a highly qualified Firearms and Tool Marks Examiner with at least five (5) years experience.
• Must be AFTE certified
• Organizational skills
• Possess the ability to teach classes and brief information pertaining to processing of Firearms and ammunition components.
• Experience processing evidence with chemicals in a laboratory setting.

All Positions
• Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment.
• Travel within the US and abroad as an instructor for our mobile training teams.
• Willing to deploy OCONUS a minimum of six months.
• Able to obtain a US Military SECRET clearance and US Passport.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Salary: DOE. Top hourly wage paid while on deployment.
