LPE positions open at Minnesota BCA (St Paul)

Great place to work (if you can handle the cold winters), great place to live (see previous note), and lots of opportunities to do research, apply for grant funding, do cutting edge "science-y stuff", and good group of people with a variety of view points to share and a good open environment for those discussions. Just a note: it is a requirement here that all analysts have a minimum 4 year science degree in physical sciences (bio, chem, etc.). We are opening first to trained and qualified LPEs (two yrs of experience); if no takers, then will reopen with a change in the experience qualifications.
Latent Print Examiner (Two Positions Open)

Salary
$23.74 to $35.22 an hour
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree in physical science
Two years experience as latent print examiner
Preferred Qualifications
IAI Certification
Knowledge of and experience with digital photography and associated software
Previous latent print testimony in court
Primary Duties
The BCA Forensic Science Services, St. Paul, Minnesota is seeking two experienced latent print examiners. They will analyze and compare latent prints consisting of friction ridge skin of the fingers, palms and soles, to known standards. Develop latent prints on submitted evidence using a variety of techniques including chemicals. Use light sources to visualize latent prints. Capture developed latent prints with digital photography. Enter latent prints into Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and analyze results. Recover friction ridge detail from deceased and decomposed bodies. Participate in training programs of latent print trainees. Provide training to law enforcement community regarding latent print development, packaging and submission to the laboratory. Take detailed examination documentation and prepare written reports in accordance with ASCLD/LAB International Program guidelines. Testify in court.
