Entry level LP trainee positions

The US Army Criminal Investigations Laboratory (USACIL), Expeditionary Forces Division (EFD), has positions for trainees in Latent Prints with no experience. The positions are "term," with a planned four year period of employment. It includes a full training program at USACIL in Forest Park, GA (just south of Atlanta) and would entail deployment for six months at the end of training, twelve months back here on "Reach Back" support for other deployed examiners, then a second 6-month deployment. For somebody wanting to get into latents in today's job market, especially somebody just out of college with no family or roots for a few years, there is no better opportunity around.

There are two positions advertised, GS-1301 requires a strong science background, GS-0072 requires less science. Please pass this on to new college graduates with BS or MS degrees who want to break into the field. At the end of the term, they may have the opportunity to stay with the Army, but would almost certainly be employable as LPEs at any lab in the country.
Of course, experienced examiners are being sought, too, and would start higher in the pay scale.
