LATENT PRINT EXAMINER II POSITION

Vermont Forensic Laboratory, Waterbury, VT, currently seeking to fill Latent Print Examiner II position.
Incumbent to perform latent prints processing, conduct comparisons and AFIS searches, and prepare written reports of examination results, primarily in laboratory setting. Court testimony as required. Possible fieldwork or advisory role for on-scene searches at crime scenes. Work performed under supervision of Physical Comparison Unit Supervisor Harry Jeppe. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Thorough knowledge of forensic laboratory procedures and protocol
Ability to make and defend decisions
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Knowledge of crime scene search techniques and procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree
Minimum two years of independent casework consisting of latent print processing, conducting comparisons, searching prints through AFIS.
Note: Additional experience as specified may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a semester-for-six-months basis
Candidates must successfully complete background, criminal, motor vehicle and credit screening.
