FORENSIC SCIENTIST (#20918)

The Forensic Scientist works for the Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab and performs the following duties: investigates crime scenes and evaluates, collects, photographs, and videotapes physical evidence as needed; processes and examines latent and impression evidence and makes appropriate identifications; testifies in court as an expert witness and prepares charts and drawings for presentations.
Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in the field of a related science (e.g. Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Criminal Justice) OR 4 yrs exp processing crime scenes, working in a crime scene laboratory or working in a police crime scene office performing crime scene investigations, including 4 yrs exp in fingerprint classification and comparison and/or latent print identification. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.
