Weird Crime: When you're robbing a bank, good service is hard to find

On October 22, 2012 at approximately 9:00 AM, 28-year old Arthur Bundrage entered an Alliance Bank location with the intent to rob it of $20,000. He walked up to the teller, made his demand, and was flat out rejected.

Showing an impressive amount of persuasive skill and perseverance, Arthur continued to demand that the teller fork over the cash without ever showing a weapon or making a threat. Whether it was out of fear that he might actually be a legitimate threat or pity, the teller finally relented and handed him the money.

When Arthur got back outside the bank, he decided to count his newly acquired riches. He was shocked and angered to discover that the teller had put far less than the $20,000 he'd demanded into the bag that was handed over to him.

Meanwhile, the Syracuse Police Department had been called and arrived at the bank to investigate the robbery. As the officers began conducting their interviews, however, they heard a knock on the front door (due to it being locked after being declared a crime scene).

To their surprise (and likely suppressed laughter), it was Arthur...coming back to the same bank he had just robbed to demand that he be given the rest of the money he had requested.

Arthur Bundrage was arrested without incident and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. He is currently awaiting trial and according to police, does not have a lawyer.

Manatee sheriff: Burglary suspects get lost trying to flee, get arrested when they drive by crime scene

MANATEE -- Two burglary suspects were arrested early Monday after they got lost while trying to leave the neighborhood and drove by the crime scene while deputies were there investigating, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 5:20 a.m., a neighbor saw Darien A. Caruso, 19, and James Hardy, 19, carrying items from a house in the 900 block of 69th Avenue West, Bradenton, and called 911. While deputies were investigating, they drove by the crime scene, according to a news release.

"They were lost in the neighborhood and trying to find their way out," the report states.

Deputies stopped the car and located items belonging to the victims in plain view, according to the sheriff's office.

Caruso and Hardy were arrested and charged with armed burglary.

Booking information for the suspects wasn't available on the Manatee County jail website.

Video Shows Gas Thief Setting Self on Fire, Crashing Truck Into Home in Mesa, Ariz.

A homeowner's surveillance camera caught a would-be gas thief in Mesa, Ariz., bungling his crime and setting himself, the car he was trying to siphon fuel from and a house on fire.

Police said suspect Herbert C. Ridge has himself to blame for messing up the crime because he was using a motorized pump to siphon gas from a pickup truck, Phoenix station KNXV-TV reported.

Homeowner Mitch Drum had recently installed a surveillance camera on his property when the mishap occurred. The video shows a man, allegedly Ridge, catching fire and jumping into the truck, but when the truck also lights up, he jumps out as the vehicle speeds away and crashes into a nearby home. The man can be seen rolling around on the ground as his shirt becomes engulfed in flames.

No one was inside the house at the time of the crash, police said.
