Does anyone have any scientific articles, reference/links, current research project contacts involving the use of nanotechnology or microparticles for latent print development?

What I pass on is hearsay, so take it for what it's worth. A friend with a different employer told me that researchers he has cooperated with have looked into nanoparticle powders. Some test runs of powder performed very, very well. In the end, the researchers decided the possible health risks were too great given our current state of understanding.

Through studying fingerprint history, we know that white lead was a most excellent white powder. Yet I am not too keen on using that, either.
