Hey all, please pass this along to your drug chemistry section. I'm looking for "a few good drug chemists" (trained).
I'll still consider them even if they have been "sullied" by having done fingerprint analyses too.

Job Description: This position is responsible for the receipt, evaluation, and processing of suspected controlled substances submitted from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. The successful applicant will have experience using a Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). This position will require meticulous attention to detail, strict adherence to standard operating procedures, and the ability to troubleshoot problems. The major position responsibilities include: evidence control, evidence evaluation, sample extraction, sample comparison, and data analysis. Performance checks and routine maintenance on scientific instrumentation must also be performed.
Minimum Qualifications: KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1) Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology or similar science degree from an accredited college or university.
2) 2 years experience analyzing suspected controlled substances as a Drug Chemist.
3) Testified in a court of law as an expert witness in forensic drug analysis
4) Experience using a GC-MS and FTIR.
It is the policy of the Department of Public Safety that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment. The background check will consist of the following components.
1) A criminal history check
2) Reference check
3) Fingerprints
4) Pre-employment drug screen
4) Education Verification
5) Driver License History
Requires occasionally moving and transporting 50 pound items and frequently moving and transporting objects such as heavy tools and heavy file boxes. This job may require positioning self to move to a significant degree across rough terrain or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Certified by the American Board of Criminalistics.
2) Experience with a variety of chemistry techniques/instruments and standard computer software, word processing, spreadsheets, etc
3) Familiar with SWGDRUG standards.
4) Worked in an accredited laboratory under ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
