CLPEX Chat Board

Hi all. OPD is hosting it's annual open house for the community to come in and see what we do. The Crime lab has a small section at this open house and each discipline has a small piece of that section. Having said that, I am looking for ideas of activities etc to engage the community when they come to check out the latent print section. Any ideas would be great. Processing anything with powder is out though. Ideas that allow me to give them something to take home would be great! Thanks!

Get white balloons. Helium gas tank. Put a very small amount of black finger print ink onto ridges of a thumb. Put a very small amount of air into the balloon. Press the inked finger into the balloon. Fill the balloons with helium. Tie a string to the balloon and send your visitor onto the rest of the tour with an enlarged unique souvenir. Practice before the tour.
