Interesting new acronym

I read that Sally Yates (Deputy US Attorney General) used a new term when she addressed members of the American Academy of Forensic Science last week in Las Vegas.
ASSTR which stands for "Approved Scientific Standards for Testimony and Reports"
I wonder if anyone ever "googles" a proposed acronym before they decide to use if?
Perhaps they should have in this case.

The very first fingerprint computers were referred to by an acronym for Automated Identification Systems -- "AIDS." When the disease came along and appropriated the acronym, we changed.
In this case, I took your implied suggestion and googled the new acronym. Somehow, very appropriate. Both vulgar.

Then there was the "diet candy" called AYDS. Sales declined in the early 80s. You can find some cringeworthy old commercials on Youtube.

In the 50's IBM insisted that the US gov't insert the "C" in their abbreviation of InterContinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM)
