How does your agency use metrics?

I'm attaching a good article from the ID News titled 'Making a Case for Effective latent Print Casework Metrics'. I've submitted data from our lab to this project and would encourage others to get involved as well.
I'm a data junkie by nature, so I am just curious, but does your lab have a LIMS and do they mine it for data? If so, what are some of the ways the data has been used?
