Chemical disposal

Does anyone have an index of the chemicals they have in their lab and how to properly dispose of them? I'm working on one for our lab and finding the answers hard to come by. I know a lot of it will differ on a state by state basis, but if there is some sort of guidance out there that I'm missing, I'd love to know about it. Thanks!

Not sure what type of lab you work for but I would contact your City or County level Safety Services or similar department. They'll have information about how to dispose of chemicals.

If it's small volumes, we just evaporate in the fume hood.

If it's larger volumes, say 100s of mLs, I would contact your HazMat unit of the local fire department and see where they can suggest or a facility like Under the Sink (or similar) where homeowners can take cans of paint, etc. to dispose of properly. Acids and bases can be poured down the drain but with copious amounts of water to dilute them.
