Do gasoline fumes affect latent print development?

I did some literature searching and couldn't find much on whether or not gasoline fumes (or any volatile fumes, for that matter) affect latent print development on non-porous surfaces; specifically when they are in an enclosed container (think fire debris cases).
Has anyone had any experience with this before I start sloshing strips of plastic and metal in gas or exposing them to fumes before I process them?
