Latent Print Processing SOP's

Post by ekuadam »

Good Morning,

My agency is currently starting a Lean Six Sigma project for our latent print processing section to hopefully improve and make our section more efficient. Part of that is gathering SOP's from other agencies on their processing techniques and procedures. If anyone would like/able to share their sop's with me please email me at awhitman@houstonforensicscience.org .

Thank you!

Related to processing -

If an item has been wet then dried (ie arson evidence) does anyone have anything regarding the use of CA vs SPR. Published literature seems to say that CA is less effective on items that were wetted and that VMD would be the preferred method. But if you don't have a VMD does your lab use SPR or still use CA even if it might be less effective?
