We are looking to upgrade are crime scene cameras to Mirrorless. Are any agencies using mirrorless cameras for crime scene photography? If so, what brand & model does your agency have and your thought on them.
Thank you!

We are using the FUJIFILM X-T1 Mirrorless Forensic Camera Bundle. Have been using it for 5 years now. Great camera, zero issues.

This year I also started using my iPhone 14 Pro. I use a camera cage to attach filters and mount to camera stand.

What lens do you use on the X-T1? I still very happily use a Canon 550D with the EF-S 60mm macro lens...does the job perfectly...

One thought is to stick with the same brand that you've been using, especially if there are adapters for your old lenses to the mirrorless system (such as the Z to F adapter for the Nikon system). That way controls will remain familiar to your crime scene techs/officers. And then update lenses as you replace them. The other thought is that, if you have the funds, you could go with an entirely new system. Any of the current major brands' mirrorless that are seen as the update to the camera series that you're currently using should be more than adequate if what you're using is.
For example, if you were shooting Nikon D800/D810/D850, going to the Z8 or Z9 would be an easy update/upgrade. If you were shooting in the D700/750/780 range and didn't need the resolution of the Z8 or Z9, then the new Z6 III would be a good choice. And with the lens adapter, you could still use the lenses you have. I'm sure Canon has the same similar replacements for their aging DSLR bodies, but I'm familiar with the Nikons.
