I am going to start my final year at university and my final year project is on the subject of fingerprints. I was wondering were there any journal articles on the Shirley McKie case?

Also are there any studies on poroscopy other than the one on fingerprints.tk?

Thank you for your time!

A good place to start for information on the McKie case, if you are not yet aware of it, is "www.shirleymckie.com". Although understandably largely offering the point of view of the McKie family, they do a pretty good job of including a lot of information relevent to the opposing point of view.

If memory serves correct, there has at least been editorial comment related to the McKie case. My apologies for not having specific citations available at this time. Any search for information must go back approximately 8 years or more.

I wrote an editorial titled "Built By Many Hands" that appeared in the JFI late in 1999. That was prior to the review of the latent print identified by SCRO as the victim's on the biscuit tin and used in the Asbury trial. I think I made some reference to the growing situation later, but cannot recall.

I do believe copies of the Panorama programs are available somewhere. I have a copy of the first. As Bob mentioned about the website, the Panorama programs largely present Shirley's point of view, for no one from SCRO would appear on camera. On the whole, they are reasonably fair and do contain much factual material. These are BBC Scotland produced, a place to start.
