A note of thanks to all of the people who assisted in organizing the ABFDE seminar. I attended the Daubert segment on Thursday and Friday. I enjoyed myself very much and I learned a lot.

It was especially nice to finally meet the people behind the names that I see on these (and other) websites, reports and papers.

It was a pleasure meeting you and other LPEs. I am glad to hear you found the symposium informative. I firmly believe that all of the comparative sciences can learn from each other, whether the topic is one of progressive growth through research, or, how to respond to court challenges. The informational exchange between the disciplines assures each of us that we are not alone in court challenges. As advocates for the evidence, we are the voice for each piece of evidence in a case......allowing us to provide objective testimony in the judicial system's quest of making sure the innocent are not wrongly convicted, and, that the guilty pay for their crime. As forensic scientists, we are aware of our role in the legal system. Unfortunately, those whose roles are one of advocacy either forgot or never understand our role of neutrality. Having an understanding of this, and knowing what information you need to present to the court so that it is comfortable in its understanding of your neutral position benefits not only the examiner, but the legal system, allowing it to function in the manner meant by our country's founding fathers.
