How do you like the new format??

There are some major differences between the new and old message board styles. Some like the threaded appearance of the other board, others like the fact that on this board you can scroll down and read the messages in a Topic without clicking on every reply.
So it's your turn to let me know which you prefer. It's up to the CLPEX.com members... whichever gets the most response (positive and negative weighed accordingly) will remain as the CLPEX.com board.
They are both going right now. To get to the other board, enter in your browser the following link:

Let me know!

I like this format. It is better than clicking on each reply.

I vote for the new format. It's more standard to how most message boards are run, and easy to adjust to and navigate. I second the vote for the ability to add an image by the username, but it's really not important -- just a fun perk.

I also like the new format and think that allowing an image to be associated with a person posting would be fun (although on my nephew's horror movie website, you have to be a registered user to have this 'feature', and that might be more work for poor old Kasey...). Maybe I missed the 'how to use this new board section, but I would like to have our email address included like on the old page, if possible...
Otherwise, I like the new format better overall.

Hi Kasey,
I think both boards have advantages but the reason the current one has priority is the amount of memory. Typical of most computer applications there is a limit to storage particularly when its as active as your website. You are doing the science of fingerprints a great service both in terms of the exchange of contemporary knowledge on important issues and the social mixture of whos who amongst our global family. Thanks again and regards from Oz. Les

Kasey, I really like the new look. It is similar to what we use in our company forum and it works very well for us. Ron

Kasey, I really like the new board. It will take me a little while to learn how to run around in it. But overall, it is great.

As Charles said, It will take a little time to get used to the site. I have noticed that most of those posting in this thread have not registered though.
There is a link at the top of the Board for registering. If users for this board registers, then their posts will show locations, profiles, email options, and a signature line option. This allows contact information to be more readily distributed through the CLPEX community.

I like this format better. I choose scrolling over clicking any day.
I would urge everyone to resist the emoticons though. I heard they carry viruses.

A suggestion

I have a suggestion for the new board. Unless I'm being really dense and it's already there and I'm not seeing it...
It would be nice if among the links at the top of the page, there was a link or button that took you back to the main clpex page. From clpex you can click a link to get here, but I don't see a way to click back. Of course, one could just type in the address, but this would improve ease of navigation between what are, after all, two parts of the same site.
Just my $0.02,
Heidi

There is a "jump" box in the bottom right corner, where it appears that CLPEX is an option. But it doesn't seem to be working.
Can the web address at the top of the page be turned into a link?
