One of our detectives inquired about where to find a downdraft table. I'm interested in finding more information for him.

I've got a downdraft workstation from Air Service Technologies approved in this year's budget, but haven't ordered it yet. It's available from Evident. When I get it if you're still looking I"ll be happy to let you know how it does. I think the total quote for the workstation, filters and shipping is around $4100 USD. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want the particulars on it.

I have one from Misonix. It doesn't have much draw; if you're dusting mire than a foot away from the bottom, it doesn't do much at all. It does clean up well, though.

We too use a Misonix down draft table. It has served us well and cleans up easy.

We have a table from New Tech that works pretty well. It's not self contained and needs an outside vent, though. (It has internal filters to keep the flora and fauna clean)

I have a 36-inch wide Air Science downflow work station and it really helps me keep the mess down in the lab. The light is close to the work area so I can see the evidence better. While it is not perfect, it affords me the luxury of only needing to mop the floors once a month versus every other day. (The lab is locked so the custodial staff who come in at night cannot clean it. The responsibility falls to me.) Don't even ask me how dirty the walls would get before I got this device.

If you are going to get one (whichever brand you select), get the widest one you can afford. In my case, the bigger workspace is fabulous.
