Good morning:

A new organization has joined the forensic community, ST²AR.
ST²AR is the acronym for Skill-Task Training Assessment, and Research Inc. The Executive Council formed ST²AR as a vehicle to offer skill task testing and training. One of my duties as a member of the EC is to coordinate training workshops. Since I have coordinated and overseen the Daubert multi-discipline workshops here in Las Vegas since 2002, I wanted to include those on this list in our announcement.

Plans are underway for ST²AR to host a multi-discipline seminar in the Fall of 2009 that will discuss Daubert-type issues, focusing on the progress of forensic science in proving reliability to the courts. The multi-discipline seminar, as in past seminars I have coordinated, will include forensics research by experts in the individual fields, skill task testing discussions, and the current legal issues facing forensic practitioners. It will be a few months yet, but once the agenda is set, I will post a notice to let you folks know.

Please check our website out, www.st2ar.org.

I always enjoyed the multi-discipline seminars. I have always felt privileged to have the opportunity of putting this type of training together.
I hope to see you in 2009.

Good luck with your venture, Jan. Are you keeping a mailing list of people interested in hearing more about your seminar? If you are, please add my name to the list.

Cindy:

You most certainly are on my list (in a good way :)

Thank you for your support. I look forward to the continued privilege and opportunity to serve the forensic community in this manner.

Take care!
