Google Books and The Gutenberg Project

In doing some research on ear identification I managed to find a couple of books available for free downloading and thought I'd pass along the information.

The one that got me copies of "Personal Identification" by Wilder and Wentworth, and Bertillon's Signaletic Instructions is Google Books. Just go to http://books.google.com , then choose the Advanced Search link, and type in a title, author or subject and choose the Full View option if you only want to find downloadable books. Next thing you know, you'll have a PDF copy if it's available!

The Gutenberg Project is at http://www.gutenberg.org/ and provides a similar service. My experience with Gutenberg is with literature and I've found some nice books in plain text format there. I haven't searched much for identification or forensic books there yet - but will be doing so soon.

Hope these resources are useful to some of you!
