Thanks folks, for the help and suggestions on doing a fingerprint demo for kids. We finally held it -- audience of about 20ish kids mostly 7-9 at a guess. I talked a little bit about forensics and what they are for, about how they are often right, but can make mistakes, and then we had the kids try inking their thumbs and putting a print onto a white balloon and then blowing it up. A bit of chaos later -- the kids had a good time and may have learned something. I did have one interested kid stick around and we raised a latent on a glass with magnetic powder.
So lots of fun and I may do this again next year for the conference. Thanks for the ideas!
Thanks for help with kid demo....
