Times: 40 hours classroom, 0800 – 1700

Who may attend: Personal that have successfully completed 40 hour Basic Fingerprint Identification Training with advanced knowledge in the field of Fingerprint Identification and Latent Examination

Course Description:
This 40 hour school will prepare officers/examiners with the scientific methodology that is used in examining friction ridge details.
This training will also address and explain the basic factors in the use of fingerprints as a positive means of identification.
The training will also explain the terms: Known (inked/live scan) fingerprints and Latent prints.
The training includes how to describe fingerprints and how fingerprints are compared and identifications are effected. It will also give the trainee a proper way to demonstrate an exhibit on how fingerprint identification is made. The trainee will accurately compare and identify fragmentary latent impressions. Finally, the trainee will be instructed on how to present expert testimony in a moot court.
