Classifying Fingerprints Using the Henry for Tenprint Certification Preparation

This workshop instructs students in the three basic fingerprint pattern types and the classification pertaining to
each. Participants will learn to select the proper deltas, cores, type lines and other fingerprint characteristics, in order
to assign an accurate and complete fingerprint classification, and to formulate the Henry Classification following
the classification of each finger. Additionally, this workshop is geared towards Tenprint Certification preparation and
examiners planning to test are encouraged to attend this workshop.

Evidently it's still used on the tenprint certification test.

"Henry" was Sir Edward Henry, Founder of the fingerprint bureau at New Scotland Yard. But I beleive the bit about dating Kathy.

I'm of the opinion you can never have enough Monty Python references....In fact I believe Cardinal Jimenez was responsible for the adaptation of the super extensions to the Henry system???

I have no idea if the that is my own thoughts or some one elses, it just came to me out of the blue.

I think the word 'easy' can only be used though, by someone who did it for almost 20 years. Hurrah for AFIS.

Would that be the ASCLD/LAB Asteroid? Or the ISO Asteroid? Maybe the Daubert Asteroid or the NAS Asteroid? Maybe just the Newboss Asteroid. When any species occupies a planet for a very long time, there are all kinds of hazards that impact with life extincting consequences.

I'm a little late to the discussion (and a first time poster here) but we also file all of our new cards by Henry. Our Livescan does a good job with with the liars, but we still catch one from time to time with our card searches. Personally, I think it's great experience for comparisions, although I cringe whenever I get a 1U/1U, as we search 3 up/down on the key and final, so those cards can take upwards to 45+ mins each, depending on how everything falls.

Thank you all for your insight! I had to learn Henry and I have to say I hated it. Once I got the hang of it, it wasn't so bad. It's good to know what others are doing in these times of computer technology.
