validation tests
I am tasked with validating RTX and Fluoroscein for use in our lab. Anyone have any info pertaining to either chemical other than the manufacturer's websites? Anyone else using this for latent print developement?

I have used RTX quite a few times. I started use in around 2000/1 and introduced it as a processing technique for the state bureau. I have also used it over in Iraq.
I have had great results with it on thermal paper. It reacts with "fats & oils" secretions and it can also be used on other types of substrates. If used on paper, then sequentially process before DFO, NIN or PD.

I performed a validation study on RTX. The product is also known as "The Developer". If you haven't already, take a look at the creator Kenzoh Mashiko's article in the JFI 48(3), 1998\279. The MSDS is available by 3M Center, in St. Paul, Minnesota. You also may wish to look into a company called CG Distributors, as they are authorized for distribution in North America. I have the operator manual and our validation study write up for the product if you'd like to reach me offline. We had great success in developing ridge detail from metal, plastic, glass, thermal paper, wood and even a leather area of an old running shoe! Good luck with it!!!
