Need 3-D Models for New Lab Display Area

We are building a new lab and part of the new features that we will have are Displays for each discipline. We have attempted to locate 3-D models of the following:

1. Friction ridge skin
2. Whole hand

Would anyone be aware of who may offer these items for purchase. We have found plenty of skin models, but of course all contain hair follicles, they are not friction ridge specific.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you ever thought about casting your own hand? We've done that numerous times in the past (for training). Get a large container and use the dentil stone that dentists use to take a mold of your teeth. Then fill the mold with any casting material and viola, you have your 3D model. If you would like the names of the products we use, IM me.

I'm conjuring up an image here. A bucket full of dental stone the consistency of buttermilk, my hand stuck in it up to my elbow. A few minutes later, I try to pull my hand out. Uh oh.

Tazman...I should have looked at our supplies...I meant to say use Alginate instead of DentilStone as the Alginate is slightly rubbery and you can wiggle your hand out...but take Steve's advice. It's much easier to replicate the videos that pop up!

I did this today after I got caught up on reverse searches. It took me about fifteen minutes (not counting the set-up time for the Dentil Stone!). I wouldv'e done a better job if I had someone else assisting. There were a few bubbles and lumps but overall it didn't look too bad. Now I have a nice paper weight or conversation piece.

Here is a close-up image of the detail. Overall, not bad. Taking a little more time would have cleared up the bubbles.
