I was able to get the whole FBI latent training program in pdf. It's basically the stuff you get in the RSA 'The Science of Fingerprints Class'

It includes all the CJIS training manuals plus the A set of fingerprints.

If anyone wants it, I uploaded it and can be downloaded here: http://www.fs2d2.com/download/fbi_training.pdf (it's 150 Mb)

I'll keep it up for a week and then take it down. Get it while it's hot.

Hmmmm, yes! An excellent training resource.

I'd like to hear from any of my students from Spokane who have applied what they learned in my workshop to these prints.

Can you tell me if these prints that are enclosed in the A\B sets would be good for testing an AFIS I am developing? If not would any of you have an idea where i can get a set of test prints. I can generate prints with software but the real thing is would obviously be of more importance.
Thanks in advance.

You can buy databases already suited for that purpose.

NIST has something http://www.nist.gov/srd/nistsd27.cfm

There are other ones too, I haven't checked to verify that they're free, but this website says they are, so it must be true......(/sarcasm)

I contacted the fbi to try and get this, which they did end up sending to me, but at a less than desirable scan resolution. So I ended up extracting the A/B set from the latent training pdf and scanning the answer key I had from some training long ago. It's scanned at 300 and prints just fine. They weren't allowed to send it with the fake names / ssn's on the card, so in respecting their wishes I blanked all that info out.

I put it up here as 2 files (exercises and answer key), zipped : http://www.fs2d2.com/Resources/A-B_Set.zip (28.6 Mb)

Enjoy
