fabrication of fingerprint evidence, university project

Hi everyone

I'm doing a project/dissertation at university in England about fabrication of fingerprint evidence.

I've been asked to do a literature review but I'm having problems getting hold of an article https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/publications/ ... ?id=202212
My university don't want to pay for it for me so I was wondering if any of you know where I could get a free copy of it ?

I've been reading up about the recent case in South Africa and some of the work Pat Wertheim has been doing.

Having only just started my project all I've done so far trying to fabricate evidence is by trying to lift a fingerprint from one bathroom tile to another using lifting tape and powder, but when I lift the 'second' fingerprint I seem to get a lot of background noise from the tape I used to transfer the fingerprint. I've been thinking of ideas of how to overcome this and a friend of mine suggested putting something down on the first tile so the tape isn't too sticky.. she suggested talcum powder but I've not been able to try this out yet.

When looking at cases it seems to me the fabrication has been done by labelling the lifts incorrectly rather than actually transplanting fingerprints from one thing to another like I've been trying.

I'm still trying to think of some better ideas I can use in my project. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You could look up Peter Swann as he claimed to the McKie's to be an expert in Fabricating Fingerprints when they first consulted him, but then again on second thoughts he found 45 points of similarity in Y7 that no other experts ever found and has just been discredited in the Fingerprint Enquiry Scotland lol.

There is many many more people who have suffered at the hands (eyes) of Swann I fear starting with the case of Susan May.
