Smithsonian Channel forensics program about fingerprints -- watch the teaser at:

The show is on Sunday at 9:00 p.m., Monday morning at midnight, then again Monday night at 8:00 p.m (EST).

I set my DVR to catch it, but it ended up recording a DNA version of the program. I couldn't help but feel dirty. LOL

Yo, Bert -- I forgot all about it and went to bed early. So you're saying they broadcast the DNA segment last night? Isn't there supposed to be a repeat again this evening?

According to this, the DNA segment comes on at 7:00 p.m. and the fingerprint segment comes on at 8:00 p.m.

Finally saw it last night. After the bad publicity from NPR's "Frontline" a month or two ago, the Smithsonian Channel's "Forensic Firsts" program is all positive. It casts fingerprints in a very positive light without the controversey and talks about advances that make the science a better crime solving tool. Glenn Langenburg and John Vanderkolk appear prominently, as does some other gray haired old man. If you missed this one, check the schedule at http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/site/sn/schedule.do -- it is due for broadcast again this afternoon (Tuesday, June 26).

I will check it sir. Although my tv might crack if Glenn is featured too much. Not sure if I want to take that chance. LOL

The program features the LVW Triumvirate -- Langenburg, Vanderkolk, and Wertheim the Elder. I especially liked the computer generated 3-D finger with exaggerated ridges that had a delta in the middle of the finger tip with an arch pattern below it, a loop pattern to the right of the delta, and a whorl pattern to the left of the delta. Now that finger would leave a serious print!

Finally caught the show last night. That gray-haired old man was kind of sexy looking and my TV flickered a few times when Glenn was talking. Mr. Swofford made the show though.

I was just checking to make sure you were awake this morning Pat. I hope all is going well in Hotlanta today. It was nice to see familiar faces on the tube last night. The show was excellent sir.
