Used Carbon/HEPA Filters

Does anyone know if there are any environmental concerns related do the disposal of HEPA/Carbon filters from downflow powder hoods and/or super glue chambers? I have been saving my used ones for a few years and am now looking into whether I can just throw these out or if I have to set them up for special disposal. I know there may be some variations depending on local regulations, but I'm just looking to see what other labs are doing/what is recommended in general. Thanks.

We just throw ours away, no special handling.
