Intriguing. Should I start checking the news search engines several times a day? Will you post the link here? Or will this more likely result in a secret investigation with damage control press reports released by the police agency in question?

Hi tazman.
I think it only fair that they have the chance to respond and get to the bottom of the issues. if i am not satisfied with the outcome i will speak to the press and my report will be published.

Latest shocker from the west mids forensic unit.
My contacts at the unit inform me that the acting head of the FSU has in the past, and while working for the police service, used cocaine and other recreational drugs at parties and that previously employed staff supplied it to him.
As shocked as i am by this, my reliable contacts tell me that it is common knowledge in the building.
Why does this man hold a position of authority within a large metropolitan police force.
I hope they still carry out random drugs tests...i shall be bringing this to the attention of senior ranking management.

I'm shocked -- SHOCKED -- to learn that drug use is going on there. That cannot have ever happened anywhere else before!

Oh, wait. My first police agency. And my second, where a sergeant sold marijuana. And my third. Okay, maybe it isn't all that uncommon after all. And maybe I'm not so shocked.

It looks as though you have a rather large chip on your shoulder Nemesis (aka Tony Preddy). There are many things that happen in any large organisation that the plebs at the bottom are not happy with. Sometimes with due reason, but others they are just get pretty p****d when their ideas aren't taken on as quickly as they'd like. Or maybe, like some of the issues you raise here, you have not fully understood the issue and blindly crashed along.

For example: The certificate you say was 18 months out of date. The certificate is merely to certify that at a certain day/ date the room was free of DNA. This process does not have an expiry date, the date on the cert is the date it was clean. You can not possibly certify a room for a period of time after it was clean. Can you? It was a process which was carried out, ideally annually, as a third party check. As control swabs should have been taken for every job, if there is ever any issues with one particular job these swabs could be checked for contamination.

The thing is, after you leave a place for your own reasons, you move on. You have a lot of issues you need to get over. It'll make you ill.

If a guy gets sick of an organization, does that make him wrong? Or might it be that he had a valid reason for getting sick of it?

Seems to me it could go either way.

As the great Shakespeare proclaimed.......methinks thou dost protest too much, kingsize!! I'm sure this will all come out in the wash nemesis.....
Also, interesting use of the word "pleb" considering the recent furore surrounding Andrew Mitchell MP!!

Lets hope 'kingsize' doesn't turn out to be a manager!
If so, you are absolutely right! Referring to the hard working staff as "plebs at the bottom"

What fun! I wish I were closer to the action. We won't even hear the fireworks on this side of the pond. Do keep us informed!

Tazman. In the UK we have recently had a member of parliament resign for calling a police officer "a pleb".
The police force were up in arms about it and were calling for his resignation which has now been the outcome.
Here we have kingsize calling police staff "plebs at the bottom" which strongly suggests we have a manager here.
If indeed this is a manager...and I shall be doing some digging of my own, then they must be held accountable for such remarks!
I think in light of the public out cry regarding the member of parliament, the public and senior ranking officers would insist on it.

I have taken a screen capture of this thread...these things have a habit of being deleted when the heat gets turned up.
