Those of us in the business a long time probably knew Charles Illsley, a past president (1998) of the IAI and a long time member of the forensic community. Charles passed away this week after years of health problems.

My personal reccolections of Charles are the garrish ties he wore when he lectured and his sometimes irreverent sense of humor.
He will be missed by many and his passing leaves a void in the field of fingerprint identification
