Hello,
I am looking to remove stamps and open sealed envelopes to fingerprint the underside. If no identifiable prints are located, then I want to send it off for DNA analysis.
Steaming can degrade DNA, soaking can dilute it, so my question is - how do you remove stamps or open envelopes without damaging possible prints, or degrading potential DNA.
thank-you for any help

We use Un-du to remove most adhesives including stamps and envelopes, but we don't send much for DNA. The adhesive remover evaporates rather quickly. http://www.un-du.com/

I would try freezing it with Liquid Nitrogen.
Amazing stuff and it leaves no residue.
