We have 4 new employees who will be joining our agency so I need to purchase new equipment for them. The rest of the section uses Epson Perfection V700 scanner, but that model has been discontinued. Has anyone bought a flatbed scanner lately? Does anyone have any recommendations that will perform similarly to the Epson V700?
We need the capability to scan negatives because many of our older cases have negatives. Also, many of our submitting agencies use those hideous clear backed lifts so we need a scanner that does well with those types of lifts too.

The Epson V750 Pro works well for us. It is also discontinued now, but the replacement model V850 Pro has all the same specs, so should perform the same (if not better).

If you go to the FBI Biospecs website www dot fbibispecs dot org and look at their Certified Products List, you can find a list of approved scanners, livescans, etc. that are certified for AFIS/NGI. But, the V850 Pro is also a good choice (don't know if it shows up on the list based on how new it is).
