Texas examiners online today?

Long shot but you never know:

Any examiners from Texas or maybe even an agency on a neighboring border on the site today? We have a decedent in our city who possessed a TX license, but for reasons I'm sure you all can understand without my elaborating, we are not remotely able to identify him visually in any way. Fingers are not in horrible shape. He has no Colorado history associated with his fingerprints nor FBI record. I've googled and discovered that TX does actually take fingerprint impressions for driver's licenses.

My problem is finding the right place and way to request these driver's license fingerprints for comparison? The TX DMV people insist they cannot help and that I must call the TX DPS. The DPS people insist they have nothing to do with that and send me to the TX DMV. I cannot locate an LE number to call. I've been on hold with various agencies all morning, everyone is very nice and exceedingly very unhelpful. I cannot be the only person to ever request this information. Help?

My direct line is three zero three 739 six 2four2 if that is faster. Help?
