Heat/Humidity Chamber Recommendations?

Post by Mark »

I have an opportunity to replace a heat/humidity chamber for DFO/nin in our latent print lab and was wondering if anyone has purchased a new unit recently that they are happy with or purchased something they wish they hadn't. Feel free to reply to me personally if desired at markmills@ongov.net. Thanks in advance for any info you wish to share.

Caron DFO/Ninhydrin Development Chamber

Post by Mark »

Does anyone have or has used one of these chambers for DFO and ninhydrin? Have money to spend, looking for some quick reviews of this product if possible. Feel free to email me privately at markmills@ongov.net if you wish. Thanks!

Mark,

We recently aquired the Caron 6105 Fingerprint Chamber. It functions quite nicely if you leave it to run for a few hours to allow it to bring the humidity way up. I have had best results when using Ninhydrin made with the Novec fluid. The unit runs quietly and isn't high maintenance.

The only issue I have had with this chamber is it did not come with a very detailed user manual so you will need to fiddle around with it to see what settings work best for you.
