You're correct. That's the same position (as Michele's boss) that I posted earlier this year.

There were several applicants, but there were some problems with the process, so they've announced the position again - for the minimum two weeks.

They also are trying out a new online application process, starting with this position, so it took a little longer to get it re-listed than was likely expected.

Not only is this Michele's boss, but mine too (and about 14 other examiners, when fully staffed), so don't delay... get those applications in today.

From the bulletin: "This Civil Service position is open to all King County employees and the general public."

As a result of the requirements, the only internal candidates will likely be from our own LPE's and there will probably be a few of them.

Those types of decisions would all depend on who is hired as Supervisor, Forensic Manager and AFIS Manager. In a perfect world, you never know

Forgive me, I dont know the personalities at play in King County. Do I sense "issues" that might affect decision making by outside applicants, but which those outside applicants might not be made aware of?

Nope, Wade is in Iraq now - everything is good.

Just kidding. We've actually had two retirements within the last 6 months or so of our supervisor and our regional manager who have been here over 20 years each. So there are a lot of positions being filled in management, but those were expected for some time. As far as the LPE positions, we've had to fill a couple of spots that became open when Kasey lured our employees away (to the east and the middle-east) along with some expansion of the number of examiners. So from that perspective, we're probably pretty average for a unit of our size, although I don't know many in the area that are this size (staffed for 16 LPE's).

Well, you did have some pretty nice fish in your pond! Of course, the lures I was given to fish with weren't bad either. But you still have some keepers that aren't biting.
