Rat Hearts Grown in Lab

Post by sharon cook »

Dear Thomas, this article is on the CNN website and I thought you might either enjoy it or be horrified. Scientist Doris TAYLOR (any relation?) has grown several rat hearts in a laboratory setting and started them beating. Apparently they are beating right along. Now, they want to move on to pig hearts. Can the Chicken Heart that ate Cincinnati be far behind????

Thank you, Sharon. That just goes to prove that rats have hearts and even if you find a heartless rat, there is hope for him. That is the primary difference between rats and humans.

Irresistible : I heard the rat heart project was funded by a well-to-do defense lawyer who couldn't find a suitable donor tissue match ... :P
